Update on SB 2579

As far as we know, no legislation yet exists to extend the SB 326 deadline for HOAs to inspect Exterior Elevated Elements (balconies, stairways and walkways).

A few weeks ago, we sent out a newsletter about California Assembly Bill 2579, which would extend the SB 721 deadline for apartment owners.

UPDATE:

Relatively little progress has been made on SB 2579. The bill has been on the govenor’s desk since August 27th. There is currently no timeframe for when this will be signed.

Currently, the deadline to become SB 721 or 326 compliant remains January 1, 2025.
