Most people don’t even think about getting a home inspection unless they are looking to purchase a new property. Home inspections, however, can be a useful tool for a homeowner even if there is no plan to sell the property in the near future. Using a home inspection company to identify problems now, so you can take preventative measures, can save you a tremendous amount of money down the road.
You don’t wait until your teeth fall out to visit a dentist, right? (Well, at least we hope you don’t). So why wait until it is too late to take care of problems on your property? For most people, the home is their most valuable asset.
We realize you might not be lounging around on your roof watching TV on a regular basis so how would you know if your roof needs repair? Harsh weather conditions such as hail, wind or ice aren’t the only things that can damage roof tiles. The sun can cause significant tile damage over time. Warping, splitting and eroding tiles are all symptoms of sun damage. If you live in an area that sometimes doesn’t get rain for long periods of time such as the Los Angeles district, not finding out until the next winter downpour that your roof needs to be repaired can be a very unpleasant (and costly) experience.
Think of a home inspection the same way you think of going to your doctor for a regular check-up – for prevention. Instead of your body needing the check-up, this time it’s your house. What if the doctor hadn’t noticed that nasty looking black mole on your back and had it removed before it became dangerous? Maybe your house has “black moles” too (you know we don’t mean the same kind as on your back, don’t you?)
Prevention is the best medicine. Getting your house inspected every so often can save you costly repairs or replacements in the future.
